Micki & Chelsea teamed up in 2010 when they opened Northwest Birth Assistants. They changed the name to Birth Assistant Education in 2020 because people all over the United States and many out of the country were enjoying their courses. They taught the first Birth Assistant Basics Course in Kirkland, WA. in January 2011. Since then they have taught many classes around the US. They were the first training program for Birth Assistants on the west coast and have taught more classes than any other program around. Together, they have attended hundreds of births, work for a busy birth center and work with local legislative regarding birth assistant laws. They bring passion to the classroom and love to teach together! Their vision is to create a learning environment where students can learn the skills and knowledge to attend births globally!
Collectively Micki & Chelsea are skilled, educated and experienced in birth assisting and birth center development & management. They are considered experts in their area and have been sharing their knowledge of birth with a national audience.
